Waiting

I wait for you Lord
I wait for you in the river

The current is swift
The jagged rocks are many
The bitter cold pierces
The warmness of my flesh

The darkness of night
Has settled upon me and
My vision has become limited
For I can only see this moment

The water, it rages violently
The shore, it eludes me
The water's breadth is immense
My struggles are in vain

Still I wait for you
I wait for you in faith

My strength it wanes
So, I will rely on yours
Keep me from the rocks
Shelter me from the cold

I know in your perfect timing
You will pluck me from
This sea of agony and
Set me on a place of high

Though I know not how
For your ways remain
To me still a mystery
But I trust your word

So, I wait for you
Knowing you will come
