God Gives Hugs
I can almost feel the touch of your hand
On my hair stroking softly, reassuringly
Your tenderness touches me within
In places unbeknownst to me until now
Your love surrounds me
Like a warm blanket on a cold day
Enveloped in its softness
I feel your comfort wash over me
You fill my soul with your peace
You allow my spirit to soar in the midst of trials
Your compassion astounds me
I thank you, Lord
For the tribulations in my life
For that is how you pull me close
And it is then that I know, God gives hugs!
